Identify Every Domain Competing for Your Keyword in Paid Search
The PPC Competitors report shows every domain bidding on a given keyword in paid search — ranked by keyword overlap and total ad activity. Use it to map the real competitive landscape for your PPC campaigns, benchmark how aggressively competitors are investing, and find gaps where you can enter the market more efficiently.
What you can achieve:
Identify your true PPC rivals: Discover every domain competing for paid visibility on your target keyword — including niche players and aggregators you might not have expected.
Benchmark competitive investment levels: Total keywords and total ads per domain reveal how broadly and aggressively each competitor is advertising — helping you size the investment required to compete.
Find competitors worth studying in depth: Domains with the highest related keyword overlap have built the most complete PPC coverage of your topic — their ad strategy is your best benchmark.

Key Metrics Explained
Related keywords: The number of this domain's paid keywords that contain your searched keyword. A high count means this domain heavily targets your exact niche in paid search — they are a direct PPC competitor.
All keywords: The total number of paid keywords in this domain's portfolio. A very high count signals a large advertiser with broad coverage — they may not be a focused competitor but can dominate general terms.
Total ads: The total number of active ad creatives for this domain. Many ads with few keywords = highly tested campaigns. Many keywords with few ads = broad reach, less creative optimization.
Pro Tip: Find the Competitor Whose PPC Strategy Is Most Worth Copying
Not every PPC competitor is equally instructive. This workflow identifies the one domain that has already figured out how to win in your niche with paid ads.
Sort by Related keywords descending — this puts the domain with the deepest topical coverage at the top. This domain has the most data about which keyword variations convert.
Check their Total ads count relative to their All keywords count. A high ratio (many ads per keyword) indicates a sophisticated advertiser who actively tests creative variations.
Click through to their domain and open the Ads Examples report to study their actual ad copy for your target keyword.
The goal: The competitor with the highest related keyword count AND a high ads-to-keywords ratio has systematically optimized their PPC presence. Their keyword selection and ad structure are your shortcut to a proven strategy.
⚠️ Important: This report shows PPC competitors for a specific keyword — not your domain's overall paid competitor landscape. For a broad view of all domains competing with your site across your full keyword set, use Competitors in Site Analysis instead. |
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How is this different from Competitors in Site Analysis?
A: PPC Competitors shows who competes for a single keyword in paid search. Site Analysis → Competitors shows which domains compete with your site across all your keywords in organic search. Use this report for keyword-level PPC research; use SA Competitors for domain-level competitive analysis.
Q: Why do I see companies from different industries in my results?
A: PPC competition is determined by bidding behavior, not business category. Aggregators, comparison sites, and affiliate publishers often bid on keywords across many industries. Their presence signals high commercial value for the keyword — and they're worth studying even if they're not direct business rivals.
Q: Can I filter by ad spend?
A: Serpstat doesn't provide direct ad spend data, but sorting by Total ads gives a strong proxy — more ads generally means more active investment. Use this as a relative signal to prioritize which competitors to analyze first.
