Manage Your Account, Profile, and Preferences

The Settings section of your Serpstat profile lets you update personal details, manage billing information, change your email or password, control notification preferences, and configure security options — all in one place.

What you can achieve:

  • Keep your account current: Update your name, company details, time zone, and contact information to ensure reports and invoices are generated correctly.

  • Control billing and notifications: Add VAT details for EU/UK invoices, turn off recurring billing, and manage which Serpstat emails you receive.

  • Secure your account: Change your password, update your email address, and manage linked social accounts for streamlined login.

Getting Started

  1. Click your profile picture in the top-right corner of any Serpstat page and select Settings.

  2. Main information: Update your name, job title, company name, website, time zone, and request history preferences. Click Save.

  3. Billing information: Enter your company name and VAT number (required for EU/UK residents). These details appear on all downloadable invoices.

  4. Contact information: Update your phone number or linked messaging accounts.

  5. Change password: Enter your current password and the new password, then click Save to confirm.

  6. Change email: Enter your new email and current password. Confirmation letters are sent to both your old and new addresses — the change applies after you confirm from both inboxes.

Key Metrics Explained

  1. Time zone: Determines the time zone used by default for all monitored projects in Rank Tracker. Set this to your local time zone to ensure position update timestamps are accurate.

  2. VAT number: Required for EU and UK business accounts. Without it, taxes are calculated at the individual rate rather than the business rate.

  3. Recurring billing toggle: When enabled (green toggle), your subscription renews automatically each month. Toggling it off cancels future renewals — access continues through the current paid period.

  4. Notification settings: Controls in-app notifications about report generation status in your profile queue.

  5. Email notification settings: Three mailing lists — Serpstat analytics (report links), weekly marketing digest, and Customer Success updates (product news and surveys).

Pro Tip: Add Billing Details Before Your First Invoice

Set up your company details once — every invoice Serpstat generates will include them automatically.

  1. Go to Settings → Main information → Billing information tab.

  2. Enter your company name, address, and VAT number (if applicable).

  3. Click Save — the details appear on all future invoices downloadable from the Bills section.

  4. EU and UK residents: entering your VAT number ensures business-rate tax calculation on your invoices.

⚠️ Important: Changing your email address requires confirmation from both your old and new email inboxes. If you do not confirm from both, the change will not take effect. If your payment card is about to expire, Serpstat will notify you by email before the next charge date.
