Track Every Keyword — and Every Competitor — in One View
The Project Overview report is the main workspace in Rank Tracker. It shows current positions, ranking changes, and visibility trends for all keywords in your project across any region and time period. Quick filters surface movements instantly — no manual scanning required.
What you can achieve:
Monitor ranking changes at a glance: Quick filters — Raised, Dropped, New, Lost — segment your keyword list by movement type so you see what matters without scrolling the full table.
Compare positions across regions: Switch between search regions in one project to see how rankings differ by country or city without setting up separate projects.
Detect SERP feature opportunities: See which SERP features your domain holds for each tracked keyword — and identify features where competitors appear but you do not.
Getting Started
Navigate to Rank Tracker → [your project] → Project Overview in the left sidebar.
Use the quick filters at the top — All, Without changes, Raised, Dropped, New, Lost, Out of top — to segment your keyword list instantly.
Select a domain from the dropdown to switch between your main domain and tracked competitors.
Use the Datepicker to set the period for historical comparison.
Apply the tag filter to analyze a specific keyword group.
Click Export to download in CSV, XLS, XLSX, or Google Sheets.
Key Metrics Explained
Position: The site's current ranking in search results for the selected search engine and region.
Volume: Monthly search volume in the selected country or city.
Expected URL / URL in SERP: Expected URL is the page you designated as the target for a keyword. URL in SERP is the page actually ranking. Red highlighting means a mismatch — a signal of cannibalization or misaligned optimization.
Dynamics / Snippets / Storm: Three toggleable mini-charts per keyword — position history, snippet changes (title, URL, description), and SERP volatility score.
SERP Features: Icons showing which SERP features appeared for each keyword. Blue = your domain holds the feature; gray = another domain holds it.
Visibility: The percentage of total search visibility your domain captures across all project keywords in the selected region.
Average Position: The average of all best positions across tracked keywords for the selected domain and period.
Pro Tip: Run a Monday Morning Position Check in Under 2 Minutes
Quick filters turn a full keyword table into a prioritized action list — use them before touching anything else.
Set the Datepicker to the last 7 days.
Click the Dropped filter to see only keywords where positions fell.
Sort by Volume descending. High-volume drops are your first priority.
Check the Storm mini-chart for those keywords — a high storm value means the whole SERP shifted, not just your positions.
⚠️ Important: Credits are charged for each keyword update and for each analyzed region. For example, updating 10 keywords in 2 regions = 20 credits. Credits renew monthly. Unused credits do not carry over to the next month. |
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between "Raised" and "New" keywords?
A: "Raised" means the keyword already had a position and it improved. "New" means the domain had no position for that keyword in the previous update and now ranks in the Top 100.
Q: Can I update positions manually without waiting for the scheduled update?
A: Yes. Select keywords with checkboxes, click Update Positions, confirm the credit cost in the dialog, then click Start Tracking.
Q: Can I track keywords across multiple regions in one project?
A: Yes. Add regions in project settings under Search Regions. Use the Filter by region dropdown in the report to compare data per region.
