See the Full SERP for Any Tracked Keyword at Any Point in Time

The SERP History report shows the complete Top 100 search results for any tracked keyword on any monitoring date. Use it to see how every domain moved, spot which competitors entered or left the SERP, and analyze the full competitive picture for the keywords your project tracks.

What you can achieve:

  • Analyze ranking changes in full context: See every position shift for every domain on every monitoring date — not just your own site's movement.

  • Identify competitors entering and leaving the SERP: Track which domains appear in the Top 100 for a keyword and when they first entered or dropped out.

  • Access cached SERP snapshots: View a saved snapshot of the actual search results page from the last 4 days to see exactly what users see.

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to Rank Tracker → [your project] → SERP History in the left sidebar, or click the SERP icon next to any keyword in the Project Overview report.

  2. Click on a keyword row to load SERP data for it. A search bar and dropdown list of project keywords will appear.

  3. Select a monitoring date from the datepicker to load the SERP for that specific update.

  4. Toggle between Domains and URLs in SERP to see results at the domain or individual URL level.

  5. Click on any domain or URL in the table to highlight all its positions across all visible dates.

Key Metrics Explained

  1. Domains / URLs in SERP toggle: Switch between domain-level and URL-level view. Domains groups all results by root domain; URLs shows each individual ranking page.

  2. Position with dynamics: Each domain's position for the selected date, with a green arrow for growth and a red arrow for a drop compared to the previous update.

  3. Highlighted domains: Green = your project domain. Blue = a tracked competitor or a mirror/subdomain of the analyzed domain.

  4. Cached SERP: A snapshot of the actual Google results page, available only for the last 4 days of updates.

Pro Tip: Diagnose a Rankings Drop in 4 Steps

When a keyword drops, the question is not just "where did you go" — it's "who took your spot and why."

  1. Open SERP History for the keyword where the drop occurred.

  2. Set the date to the update just before the drop and note your position.

  3. Move to the next update date — identify which domains displaced yours.

  4. Open those domains in Site Analysis → Keywords to see what content or links they gained around that time.

⚠️ Important: SERP History data is available only for dates when Rank Tracker ran an update for your project. The Cached SERP snapshot is available only within the last 4 days of updates. SERP History covers organic search regions only — paid SERP data is not available in this report.
