Credits and Subscriptions

Track module credit balances, understand consumption formulas, and purchase top-ups for any Serpstat module without upgrading your plan.

How Credits Work Across All Serpstat Modules

Credits are the unit of measurement for data usage across all Serpstat modules. Each module draws from a separate credit pool — and each paid plan comes with a fixed credit allocation per billing cycle. Understanding credits helps you plan usage, avoid running out mid-project, and purchase top-ups when needed.

What you can achieve:

  • Track consumption per module: See exactly how many credits remain for each module — Site Analysis, Keyword Research, Backlinks, Rank Tracker, and API — in one dashboard.

  • Buy extra credits: Top up any module independently without upgrading your entire plan — ideal for one-off data-intensive tasks.

  • Understand renewal cycles: Credits renew each month when you have an active subscription. Unused credits reset at renewal — they do not carry over to the next billing period.

Getting Started

  1. Click your profile picture in the top-right corner and select Credits and Subscriptions (or go to Profile → Billing → Credits).

  2. Review the credit table: one row per module, showing your total allocated credits and how many remain.

  3. To see a formula for a specific module: expand the row or hover over the credit counter — the formula appears (e.g., 1 keyword = 1 credit for Keyword Research; 1 URL checked = 1 credit for Site Audit).

  4. To add extra credits for a module: click the Add button in the corresponding row and select a top-up package.

  5. Additional credits purchased on top of your plan do not expire as long as your subscription remains active.

Key Metrics Explained

  1. Credits per module: Each module (Site Analysis, Keyword Research, Backlink Analysis, Rank Tracker, Site Audit, API) has its own credit pool. Using credits in one module does not affect another module's balance.

  2. Credit formulas: Each module measures consumption differently. Site Analysis: 1 domain check = 1 credit. Keyword Research: 1 keyword result = 1 credit. Backlinks: 1 link checked = 1 credit. Site Audit: 1 page checked = 1 credit. API: 1 result row returned = 1 credit (Summary report = 5 credits).

  3. Renewal date: Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. The exact date is shown in the Credits dashboard next to the renewal indicator.

  4. Extra credits: Purchased top-ups are added on top of your plan allocation. They do not expire while your subscription is active, but are forfeited if the subscription lapses.

Pro Tip: Audit Credit Usage Before a Large Project

Checking your remaining credits before a data-intensive task helps you avoid interruptions mid-project.

  1. Open Profile → Credits and Subscriptions before starting a large export or crawl.

  2. Compare your remaining credits against the expected volume: e.g., a 10,000-page audit consumes 10,000 Site Audit credits.

  3. If credits are insufficient, purchase a top-up package for that specific module.

  4. For recurring large projects, consider upgrading your plan — plan-level credits are significantly cheaper per unit than top-ups.

⚠️ Important: Credits are module-specific and cannot be transferred between modules. Unused plan credits reset at the start of each billing cycle — they do not carry over. Extra credits purchased as top-ups remain valid as long as your subscription is active.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do unused credits carry over to the next month?
A: No. Credits included in your plan reset at the start of each billing cycle. Only extra credits purchased as top-ups do not expire, as long as your subscription remains active.

Q: Can I transfer credits from one module to another?
A: No. Each module has its own credit pool, and credits are not transferable between modules. You can purchase additional credits for any module independently.

Q: What happens to my extra credits if I cancel my subscription?
A: Extra purchased credits are forfeited when your subscription lapses. Credits remain accessible through the end of your current billing period, after which access is removed.
