Find Every Question Your Audience Is Asking

The Search Questions report shows all question-form search queries associated with your keyword — pulled in real time from Google, Amazon, and Perplexity (US only). These are the exact questions users type when looking for answers, making this report the ideal starting point for FAQ pages, featured snippet targeting, and topic-led content strategy.

What you can achieve:

  • Win featured snippets: Google frequently shows "People Also Ask" boxes and position-0 answers for question queries — targeting these with well-structured answers gives you a direct path to above-the-fold visibility.

  • Build FAQ sections that rank: Real user questions are the highest-quality material for FAQ pages because they match search intent exactly.

  • Understand what your audience doesn't know: Questions reveal knowledge gaps and objections — critical insight for product pages, landing pages, and sales content.

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to Keyword Research → SEO Research → Search Questions in the left sidebar.

  2. Enter your seed keyword and select your regional database.

  3. For US database: use the source toggle to switch between Google, Amazon, or Perplexity.

  4. Use the filter by question word (who, what, where, when, why, how) to focus on specific question types.

  5. Select keywords with checkboxes and click Operations to export your question list.

Key Metrics Explained

  1. Question keyword: The full question phrase as users type it — use these verbatim as FAQ section headings or article titles.

  2. Volume: Average monthly searches. "How to" questions often have higher volume than expected — especially for complex or high-consideration products.

  3. CPC: Even question queries can have commercial value — "how to choose running shoes" leads directly to purchase intent.

  4. Source: Google, Amazon, or Perplexity — the platform generating this question pattern.

Pro Tip: Reverse-Engineer a People Also Ask Strategy

Google's "People Also Ask" boxes are essentially free traffic opportunities — and Search Questions shows you exactly which questions to answer.

  1. Filter the report to show only "How" questions — these have the highest featured snippet win rate.

  2. Pick 5–10 questions with volume above 50 that are not yet answered on your site.

  3. Add each question as a heading (H2 or H3) in a relevant article, followed by a concise, direct answer in 2–3 sentences.

  4. The goal: Well-structured direct answers to real user questions are exactly the format Google pulls for featured snippets. Even a lower-authority site can win position 0 for a specific question with the right structure.

⚠️ Important: Amazon and Perplexity sources are only available for the United States database, and exports are disabled when these sources are selected. Switch to the Google source to export your question list for content planning.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How is Search Questions different from Search Suggestions?
A: Search Questions is a filtered subset of Search Suggestions — it shows only question-form queries. If you want all autocomplete variations (not just questions), use the Search Suggestions report instead.

Q: Some questions seem very obvious — are they worth targeting?
A: Yes, often more than you'd think. Simple questions ("what is X?") frequently have high volume but are dominated by large authoritative sites — while the long-tail versions ("what is X for complete beginners?") may be wide open.

Q: Can I filter by question type (how, what, why, etc.)?
A: Yes — use the Filters section to narrow by specific question words. "How" questions target process/informational intent; "What" questions target definitional intent; "Why" questions signal educational intent; "Which/Best" questions signal comparative or commercial intent.
