Find Trending Keywords Before Your Competitors Do
Keyword Trends shows the most popular Google search queries at the city level for any selected country — updated in real time, with data available for up to one month back. Use it to spot rising topics early, create timely content, and drive traffic before competition builds up around a trending keyword.
What you can achieve:
Identify trending topics before they peak: Real-time data lets you spot rising search queries early — so you can publish content, prepare landing pages, or launch ads ahead of the competition.
Target content by country and city: Filter trends down to a specific city in your target market and find exactly what local audiences are searching for right now.
Feed trending keywords directly into your workflow: Pass selected keywords to Rank Tracker, Keyword Clustering, or Batch Analysis in one click — without re-entering data manually.
Getting Started
Navigate to Keyword Trends in the left sidebar.

Use the City column filter to narrow results to a specific city — click the column header and type the city name, or select from the dropdown.
Use the Date filter to view trending keywords for a specific day or period — from today back up to one month.
Select keywords and use the Operations button to send them to Rank Tracker, Keyword Clustering, or Keyword Batch Analysis.
Key Metrics Explained
Keyword: The trending search query on Google. These are real queries users are actively searching — not historical averages. High-frequency trending keywords represent topics with immediate audience interest.
Country: The country in which the search query was entered. Use this to confirm that the trend is relevant to your target market.
City: The city-level origin of the trending query. City-level data is useful for local SEO, news sites, and businesses targeting specific geographic markets.
Language: The language of the search query. Use this filter in multilingual markets to separate trends by language audience.
Date: The date when the query became trending. Filter by date to see what was trending on a specific day — useful for tracking seasonal or event-driven spikes.
Pro Tip: Build a Trending Content Pipeline for News and Blogs
Keyword Trends is most effective when checked regularly — trending topics often have low competition for 24–48 hours before established sites react.
Open Keyword Trends and filter by your target country and city.
Set the Date filter to today or the last 1–2 days to see the freshest trends.
Filter by keyword to narrow results to your niche — enter a topic term in the keyword filter.
Select promising keywords and click Operations → Keyword Clustering to group them by topic before writing.
Use the clustered keywords in Text Editor to generate a draft article — enter the trending keyword as the title and inject supporting terms at the paragraph level.
The result: A content pipeline that turns real-time search trends into published articles — before your competitors have noticed the topic.
⚠️ Important: Credits are charged from the combined Website and Backlink Analysis credits pool — not the Tools credits. Viewing the report: 1 selected base = 2 credits. Exporting results: 1 row in the exported file = 1 credit. Check your available credit balance in the report header or in your account Profile. |
