Visualize Serpstat Data in Google Looker Studio
The Serpstat Looker Studio Connector connects your Serpstat account to Google Looker Studio — a free data visualization platform. Use it to build interactive dashboards showing domain visibility trends, organic keyword dynamics, and competitor data. Reports update automatically from Serpstat's data source and can be shared with clients or stakeholders without giving them a Serpstat account.
What you can achieve:
Build client-facing SEO dashboards: Create branded Looker Studio reports showing domain visibility, keyword trends, and competitor positions — shareable without Serpstat access.
Track domain performance over time: The Domain History report provides time-series data on organic traffic estimates, visibility index, and keyword counts — ideal for trend charts and monthly reporting.
Visualize competitor positioning: The Competitors report maps the competitive landscape for any domain — useful for presenting market position to stakeholders in visual format.
Getting Started
Open Google Looker Studio and go to Data Sources → Add data source. Search for "Serpstat" and select the Serpstat connector.
Enter your Serpstat API token — find it in your Serpstat Profile page. Click Submit.
Once the token is verified, enter the domain you want to analyze (format: example.com).
Choose a method: Domain history (traffic, visibility, keyword trends over time) or Competitors (list of organic competitors).
Select a search engine and regional database, then click Connect.
Click Create report to open the pre-built dashboard template. Customize charts, add your branding, and share the report URL with your client or team.
Available Reports
Domain History — Organic traffic: Estimated monthly traffic and visibility index over time. Use this to show trend direction and identify traffic inflection points.
Domain History — Organic keywords: Count of keywords the domain ranks for in organic search. Tracks growth or decline of the domain's keyword footprint.
Domain History — Paid keywords: Count of keywords the domain appears for in paid search — useful for tracking PPC activity over time.
Competitors report: A list of organic competitors for the analyzed domain, based on keyword overlap in Serpstat's database. Useful for competitive positioning slides.
Pro Tip: Build a Monthly SEO Report Template in Looker Studio
A Looker Studio report connected to Serpstat automatically reflects the latest data — set it up once and use it for every monthly client review.
Create a Looker Studio report with three pages: Organic overview (traffic + visibility trends), Keyword growth (keyword count over time), and Competitors snapshot.
Add a date range control to each page so clients can adjust the reporting window themselves.
Rename the report with the client's brand name and share the URL. The client can view and interact with the report without a Serpstat account.
The goal: One URL per client that always shows current Serpstat data — no monthly export, no deck rebuilding, no version confusion.
⚠️ Important: The Serpstat Looker Studio Connector requires an active Serpstat account with API credits. Currently, two reports are available: Domain history and Competitors. API access is available from the Team plan. |
