Collect, Analyze, and Manage Keyword Lists in One Place

The Keyword lists tool lets you gather keywords from any Serpstat report or add them manually, then analyze Volume, CPC, Keyword Difficulty, and competition data across multiple search engines simultaneously. Use it to build keyword sets, update metrics, and send lists directly to Rank Tracker or Keyword Clustering without leaving the platform.

What you can achieve:

  • Collect and store keyword sets in one place: Gather keywords from any Serpstat report or add them manually, then store and manage them as named projects without leaving the platform.

  • Analyze key parameters for every keyword: Pull Volume, CPC, Keyword Difficulty, PPC Competition, and Results for any set of keywords across multiple search engines simultaneously.

  • Send keywords directly to other tools: Transfer keyword lists to Rank Tracker or Keyword Clustering in one click — no copy-pasting or file exports required.

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to Batch Analysis → Keyword lists in the left sidebar.

  2. Click Create project, enter a project name, and select the search regions to analyze.

  3. Add keywords manually, import from a file, or collect from any Domain Analysis report.

  4. Select the parameters to display: Volume, CPC, Keyword Difficulty, PPC Competition, Results.

  5. Wait for the progress loader at the top of the page to complete before adding new keywords.

  6. Use Operations to update Volume, send keywords to Rank Tracker, or add them to Keyword Clustering.

Key Metrics Explained

  1. Volume: Average monthly search volume for the keyword according to Google Ads, calculated over the past year.

  2. CPC: Cost per click — the estimated bid amount for this keyword in Google Ads campaigns.

  3. Keyword Difficulty: Competition score from 0 to 100% for ranking in the organic top 10. Ranges: 0–20 easy, 21–40 medium, 41–60 difficult, 61–100 very difficult. Available for Google only.

  4. PPC Competition: How many domains compete for this keyword in paid search. Higher values mean more advertisers are bidding. Available for Google only.

  5. Results: The number of organic results returned for the keyword in the SERP.

Pro Tip: Use Volume Trend to Plan Seasonal Content

Volume update gives you a 12-month trend graph — useful for spotting seasonal keywords before planning content or campaigns.

  1. Select the keywords you want to update in the project.

  2. Open Operations → Update Volume.

  3. The report refreshes with current volume data and a 12-month trend graph per keyword.

  4. Export with the Include Volume Trend option checked to get the trend data alongside other metrics — as a graph in PDF, or as a separate tab in XLS, XLSX, and Google Sheets.

⚠️ Important: Credits for Keyword lists are shared with Domain batch analysis, Clustering, and Text analysis. Volume update costs: keywords × search engines × 2 credits. Adding keywords to a project (manually or from file) costs: search engines credits only — keyword count does not matter. Adding keywords to the Serpstat database does not consume credits. Check your remaining balance in your profile before running large updates.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What happens if a keyword shows N/A instead of Volume data?
A: N/A means the keyword is not yet in the Serpstat database. Use Operations → Add to Serpstat database to submit it. No credits are charged for this action — the data will appear after the next database update.

Q: Can I filter keywords by Keyword Difficulty or Volume inside a project?
A: Yes. Use the filter panel to narrow results by Volume, CPC, number of results, competition level, number of words, SERP features, search engine, or keyword text.

Q: How do I send keywords from Keyword lists to Rank Tracker?
A: Select the keywords, open Operations → Add to Rank Tracker, and choose an existing project. The keywords are transferred immediately — no export required.
