Audit Any Single Page in Two Clicks

The Page Audit tool runs a focused technical audit on individual pages without crawling the entire site. Use it to quickly check the pages that matter most — high-traffic pages, recently optimized content, or landing pages — and get a full breakdown of technical issues with recommendations for each one.

What you can achieve:

  • Audit only the pages you care about: Check your most important pages individually — no need to run a full site crawl every time you optimize a single page or fix a specific issue.

  • Get an SDO score per page: Each page gets its own optimization score, making it easy to compare pages and prioritize which ones need the most attention.

  • Receive specific fix recommendations: For every error found, Page Audit provides a description of the problem and actionable steps to resolve it.

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to Site Audit → Page Audit in the left sidebar.

  2. Click Add page (or Add URL).

  3. In the dialog, enter: the page URL (include http:// or https://), a project name, the User Agent for the crawler, and login/password if the page requires authentication.

  4. Click Start Audit and wait for the scan to complete.

  5. Click See Result to open the full report for that page.

  6. To re-audit the same page after making fixes, click Run next to the existing entry.

Key Metrics Explained

  1. SDO Score: The page-level Serpstat Domain Optimization score — the ratio of errors found to total possible errors, weighted by severity. Higher = better optimized.

  2. High Priority errors: The most serious issues affecting this page's rankings. Eliminate these first.

  3. Medium Priority errors: Less critical but still impactful issues. Fix after High Priority items are resolved.

  4. Low Priority errors: Minor issues with limited ranking impact. Address these last.

  5. Information: Optimization recommendations that are not errors. Review these for opportunities to improve page quality beyond technical compliance.

  6. Error detail panel: Clicking any error in the report expands a description of the problem and specific recommendations for how to fix it on this page.

Pro Tip: Use Page Audit to Verify Fixes Before Requesting Re-indexing

Before asking Google to re-crawl a page, confirm Serpstat sees it as clean — it takes two minutes and saves the risk of re-indexing a page that still has issues.

  1. After fixing technical issues on a page, go to Page Audit and click Run to re-scan it.

  2. Check the updated SDO score and confirm that the High Priority error count has dropped to zero or reduced significantly.

  3. If new issues appear in the fresh scan, resolve them before proceeding.

  4. Once the page is clean, submit it for re-indexing via Google Search Console.

⚠️ Important: Page Audit scans one page at a time — it does not follow internal links or crawl the rest of the site. For a full domain crawl, use the main Site Audit. To scan pages on sites with limited access, enter the login and password in the Page Audit settings — credentials are used only for the crawl and are not stored after the audit completes. JavaScript-rendered pages can be scanned, but cost 10 credits per page.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I audit pages on a password-protected site?
A: Yes. Enter the login and password in the Page Audit setup dialog. The crawler will use these credentials to access and scan the page.

Q: How is Page Audit different from the full Site Audit?
A: Site Audit crawls your entire domain and reports issues across all pages. Page Audit scans only the specific URL you enter — it is faster and useful for checking individual pages after fixes, without running a full crawl.

Q: Why does my page show a User Agent blocked error?
A: Your server may be blocking the crawler's user agent. In Page Audit settings, switch to a different User Agent (for example, Googlebot) to see if the issue persists. If blocked on all agents, contact your server administrator to whitelist the Serpstat crawler IPs.
